I've been reading my friend's blog (Man About Murfreesboro). Mike, who is known for his liberal politics, has recently been receiving grief second hand through comments left on his brothers' conservative blogs. The comments are mostly, "What happened to Mike?"
This makes me chuckle since this is the same question Mike's friends ask when they learn of his brothers' politics/professions.
I've known Mike since the late eighties when he became my first off campus college roommate. Since then we have both settled and raised families in Murfreesboro. I've always considered Mike as a surrogate brother who shares similar political views. Don't get me wrong. I love my brothers greatly but we definitely don't see eye to eye politically.
Both Mike & I were raised in conservative-religious households and we are both the 'black sheep' when compared to our brothers. Mike has two brothers who are both preachers. I have two brothers who are both police officers.
So what happened? I tell you what happened. There is a small market one block from the university that is rumored to be 'the Center of the Universe'. Theory holds that anyone who goes into this market will always return to Murfreesboro.
The hypothesis I've developed is that there is an invisible force field emitting from 'the Center of the Universe' that protects all minds within 25 miles. This explains why our congressman has been a Democrat throughout the Republican political strangle hold in Washington.
Once I collect enough money to conduct research I plan on testing this hypothesis using the scientific method. I understand it is popular today to test hypothesis using intelligent design but I have to resist. I prefer my results to be shelved in non-fiction ;-)
Disclaimer: This 'tongue & cheek' has been for fun so all of you who do not have a sense of humor. Go away.
