First day post Summer semester and I have some MUST SEE TV to watch on the TiVo!
Have you ever noticed how medical disorders are discussed in terms of food? Med-Surg has ruined me on cottage cheese. I will never be able to eat big curd cottage cheese (a previous favorite of mine) again without seeing slides of vaginal Candidiasis in my mind!
Speaking of food... I have a thin crust, light-cheese, mushroom & onion pizza being delivered soon. I challenge my OB instructor to ruin pizza for me... no, wait. Don't take that challenge, please.
Yes. I am a complete couch potato today.

Bragging Rights
Successfully completed OB yesterday. What's funny is that a good friend of mine (who wants to specialize in OB) tied with me on the final and our semester grade (down to the second decimal place). We got the highest scores in the class!
The OB comp afterwards made me sweat bullets. That thing was HARD!!! One panic attack, two dizzy spells, several crying fits later, and I managed to pass ten points above national average. Wooo!
Our instructor congratulated us afterwards by revealing that this was the first time the program had all the men in the class pass the comp on the first try.
And if my day couldn't have gotten any better I discovered I had miscalculated my semester GPA. I'm still not happy with all my B's but I discovered that I had an A in one of my two hour classes. I received my semester paper in my student box with a 98 and the written comments, "You wrote one too many pages... you should consider publishing this paper."
Wow! I was speechless.
When I called my wife about all the good news she told me, "I'm happy for you but if you EVER do an accelerated Summer session again... I will kill you!"

It was a good ending to a difficult and challenging Summer. I never want to do it again!

Yay! Congratulations on finishing up your summer! Have fun couch-potato-ing!
ReplyDelete(I have just wasted 5 hours in front of the TV, watching VH1's "100 Red Carpet Moments. It was fabulously trash-tastic!)
I think I can feel my brain cells dying. ;)
Sometimes its okay to let the brain cells die for no reason!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on about 8 solid hours of television.
Comedy Central's Roast of William Shatner is filthy... and hysterical.

You the man! Good job! You should be so proud of yourself. Is there a small piece of you that would revel in showing those femi-nazi nurses at the clinic how sweet you did on your comp?
ReplyDeleteWhen does next sem start for you?
Ha! You did touch on something I hadn't thought of... but yes... I would love to call up that nurse at the clinic and challenge her to take the same comp!
ReplyDeleteBecause this is an accelerated program we only have 9 days off before Fall begins... OY!
All the more reason to lay about the house!
