Just got back from the fireworks display at the university. It turned out to be slightly more pleasant than expected. We timed our arrival perfectly. With two kids in tow (both under the age of 5) we were seated in the grass 10 minutes before the firework display started.
I was expecting it to be hot, humid, and somewhat uncomfortable. But it turned out that a storm was rolling in from the South and with it... lots of breeze. We had fireworks to the left of the symphony stage and a lightning storm (off in the distance) to the right of the stage. It was kind of weird not knowing if the BANG was from the fireworks or the storm!
Fortunately, we never got any rain.
So that does it for the official vacation (vacation=no books, studying, school stuff). Tomorrow the wife goes back to work, the kids go to day care, and I go to the library and start hacking away at my list of things to catch up on with school.
Happy 4th!
