Democrats Are Not Blind... Just realistic

I'm getting a bit sick listening/reading about how Democrats want the U.S. to fail in Iraq. What a bunch of whiney ass babies!

The REAL issue
Republicans are blinded by their loyalty to Bush. The role of Congress is to use oversight powers to balance the executive branch. When the Republican Congressional leadership is too afraid to question presidential policy... CONGRESS ISN'T DOING ITS JOB!

So instead of doing what they are paid to do...
Republicans attack John Murtha. The man has seen more war and death than practically anyone. I notice that the people who attack Murtha are well fed, well financed, and haven't spent a day living in reality ($100 to every American to offset high gas is a prime example).

What makes sense?
So, do we listen to a man who has served in combat and continues to serve his country - OR - do we listen to someone who has been born with a silver spoon in their ass?! I know who I'm backing on issues of combat and it won't be some Republican hack who is more concerned over where their next lobbyist paid vacation is coming from... insert Jack Abramoff here... than the lives of our military personnel.

Why Republicans are REALLY upset
The Democrats are shining a bright light on the Republicans lack of oversight and unwillingness to challenge presidential policies. The Republicans have been forced into action by admitting that the war in Iraq is not the rosey picture Rumsfeld painted for everyone.

Democrats are playing tough love with their Republican counterparts. In order to face a problem head on, like Iraq, we have to look at it realistically and admit to our failures. Otherwise we cannot create a good plan to turn things around or at least improve our outcome. Its common sense.

The Republican Congressional leaders have failed. Allowing ANY President a blind check to do whatever he wants is never a good idea. If getting Congress to do its job means switching control over to the Democrats... So be it!
