The Senate Democratic Leader, Harry Reid, today stood up to the Republican leadership by calling an emergency closed door Senate meeting. No vote was required to call the meeting and it really took Frist and his buddies by surprise. Looks like the Republicans have been refusing to look into the mishandling of National Security Intelligence by the White House for some time and Reid embarrassed the hell out of them for their lackluster response to look into the matter.
You will have to excuse me for having to travel to another state where the Senator gives a damn (not Frist) to find real information. Senator Rockefeller's website has two press releases related to the beef the Dems have with Billy Frist.
The first was released October 5th in response to Frist abruptly cancelling an Intelligence Briefing on Iraq.
The second, released October 8th, addresses the issue of the Republican Congressional leadership not willing to ask hard questions of the White House about misuse of pre-war intelligence.
I saw Harry Reid's press conference. The man was PISSED!
