The only thing I can compare it to is high school. There must be close to 80 people. The noise of chatter before class and during breaks is enough to make me want to buy sound proof headphones. What were they thinking putting this many people in one room?!
Ear plugs and finding a 'happy place' is definitely now part of my strategy. [Chuckle]
Med Surg II Clinical Assignment
I hit the lottery!
The clinical pool this semester contained 6 instructors at 5 hospitals. I was assigned the #1 cardiac hospital in the state (also among the top 5% of all cardiac hospitals in the nation) AND my clinical instructor has 30+ years working in same hospital/teaching (she also happens to be the Med Surg II instructor).
Before I knew 'the teach' was my clinical instructor I was in love. She is a hoot! During lecture today she made statements like:
"If anyone would like to testify about their own disorders please feel free... BUT don't blame me when your friends look at you funny afterwards."
-AND-
"We all know that the Valsalva maneuver can result in a poor outcome in certain medical situations... isn't that right, Elvis?" [As she stood next to her life size cardboard cutout of the King of Rock & Roll in his gold jacket]Smart. Funny. She isn't just a good instructor... she is a great instructor.
How good is my assignment? "You suck!" was the reply of my green-with-envy study partner.

My poor wife.
"I'm happy that you are happy now come in here and eat dinner and quit talking about it."
"Yes, dear."
Dang, I'd love to meet this one! LOL!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great instructor! Wish I had one like that.. Maybe one day when I get close to retirement, I can be one too!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky dog! What a great instructor! Hold on to that one and learn learn learn!
